Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! Now what? This is the question that the season of Eastertide invites us to wrestle with. It’s one thing to confess and believe that Christ has risen, it’s another thing to live our lives in light of this reality. As we seek to discover together what it means for us to live as people of the resurrection, we’ll be spending the next 7 weeks in the New Testament letter of 1 John. John’s primary invitation to the church in this letter is become people who “walk in the light,” which is where we got the name for our series. Our desire is that this series would equip us to take another step in the lifelong endeavor of learning to live resurrected! Series begins Sunday, April 19*

The Light of Christ illumines all.

These videos will help you to gain deeper insight into the Letter of 1 John and some of its mean themes.

Watch this Bible Project overview video on the letters of John, which breaks down the literary design of the book and its flow of thought. John calls followers of Jesus to share in God's own life and love by devoting themselves to loving one another.

1 John very bluntly calls us not to practice sin but, what is sin? This video by The Bible Project explores the biblical concept of sin in a very helpful and illuminating way.

Love is a key theme in the letter of 1 John. The word “love” is one of the sloppiest words in our language, as it primarily refers to a feeling that happens to a person. In the New Testament, “love” refers to a way of treating people that was defined by Jesus himself: seeking the well-being of others regardless of their response.
